SLOW PITCH

2008 CHAMPIONSHIP BERTHS ALLOCATION




ASA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS. In the following Divisions and Classifications, any team playing in the local championship tournament ( if Scheduled ) may  advance directly to their respective ASA National Championships.

Men's Masters 35-Over Slow Pitch
Men's Masters 40-Over Slow Pitch
Men's Masters 45-Over Slow Pitch
Men's Senior   Slow Pitch ( All Age Classifications )
Men's Industrial Slow Pitch
Co-ed Slow Pitch

 

In the following Divisions and Classification, any team registered in the same classification or lower in that division, may advance to the National Championship Finals, provided that team has not previously qualified for a National Championship Finals in a lower classification.

01. Men's Fast Pitch ( open to any men's fast pitch team not previously qualified in a lower classification ).
02. Any properly registered women's slow pitch team may play in the Women's Open and if qualified may also play in their respective slow pitch National championship.

 



ASA EAST / WEST NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. The ASA will conduct two National Championship Tournaments in Men's Class A, B, C, D and Women's Class Open, B and C Slow Pitch. The country shall be divided into two Sections as per Article 205 Sections of the ASA code.

1. BERTHS. Berths into these National Championships will be based in the following:

a. Any Men's Class A or Women's Open team playing in a local Championships ( if scheduled ) may advance directly to their respective National Championship Finals.

b. All Men's Class B, C and D and Women's Class C and D berths are based on adult team registrations from the previous year as follows:

2. Qualifying:  Teams will qualify for these National Championship Finals through their local associations. Local Associations shall establish guidelines for the process teams may earn a berth into these National Championships. Local associations and regions may combine berths to qualify teams for these tournaments on accordance with Article 516(A)(5) of the ASA Code. Teams may play in their closest National Championship.

3. Dates.  These National Championships will be played on Labor Day commencing no earlier than Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and concluding no later than Monday.

4. ASSESSMENT / Entry Fee.  The entry fee shall include a $ 100.00 per team assessment fee to the ASA. 

5. Tournament Guidelines.  These National Tournaments shall be governed by the rules and regulations set forth in the ASA Code pertaining to National Championship Finals.
