CLASSIFICATION PROCEDURES


MASA MOVE-UP RULE

MASA FAST PITCH and MODIFIED PITCH

The top two ( 2 ) finishers in state final play must participate in a least the next higher classification for all qualifying and state finals play in their next MASA tournament-playing season. All teams have the right to appeal. Teams moving up will automatically be seeded into the next appropriate state finals without having to play in district play downs in order to qualify.

EXCEPTION Class A teams are excluded.
Class B teams finishing 1st or 2nd for two ( 2 ) consecutive seasons must move-up to Class "A" their next MASA tournament season.

MEN'S SLOW PITCH

Class A

The MASA Move-Up Rule is not applicable.

     
Class B Class B teams finishing 1st or 2nd for two ( 2 ) consecutive seasons must move-up to Class " A"  their next MASA tournament season.
     
Class C Top three ( 3 ) teams must participate in at least the next higher classification in their next MASA tournament- playing season.
     
Class D All teams with a winning record ( 3 - 2 ) or above, must participate in at least the next higher classification in their next MASA tournament- playing season.
     
Class E All teams with a winning record ( 3 - 2 ) or above, must participate in at least the next higher classification in their next MASA tournament- playing season.
Class F All teams with a winning record ( 3 - 2 ) or above, must participate in at least the next higher classification in their next MASA tournament- playing season.
 


   

WOMEN'S SLOW PITCH

Class C Top two ( 2 ) teams must participate in at least the next higher classification in their next MASA tournament- playing season.
     
Class D Top three ( 3 ) teams must participate in at least the next higher classification in their next MASA tournament- playing season.
     
Class E All teams with a winning record ( 3 - 2 ) or above, must participate in at least the next higher classification in their next MASA tournament- playing season.
     

COED SLOW PITCH

Class A The MASA Move-Up Rule is not applicable.
     
Class B Class B teams finishing 1st or 2nd for two ( 2 ) consecutive seasons must move-up to Class " A"  their next MASA tournament season.
     
Class C Top three ( 3 ) teams must participate in at least the next higher classification in their next MASA tournament- playing season.

MEN'S MASTERS

Division I

The MASA Move-Up Rule is not applicable.

Division II

All teams with a winning record (3-2) or above, m us t participate in at least the next higher classification in the next MASA tournament playing season. All teams have the right to appeal.
