“SENT ON BEHALF OF JOHN GOUVEIA, PRESIDENT OF USA SOFTBALL”
Good Day Council Members,
During the October 27, 2017 board meeting, after the annual council meeting, the USA Softball Board of Directors revisited the Adult Team Liability Fee which is going into effective January 1, 2018.
A motion was made, seconded and carried to revisit the motion made at the April Board of Directors meeting that added a $10.00 liability insurance charge to the $9.00 adult team registration fee.
The Board members reviewed information from RPS/Bollinger, budget details from CFO Mark Loehrs and Commissioner Mick Renneisen’ s presentation, which generated a lengthy discussion. Following the discussion the board voted to rescind the $10.00 per adult team liability insurance charge.
The Board then voted to bring forth the following new proposal for commissioner review and ratify.
On Wednesday November 29, 2017 the commissioners voted to ratify the Board of Directors proposal.
This proposal means the following fee increases will go into effect on the following dates.
It should be noted that these new fee increase do not fully fund the liability insurance fund in 2018. In order to meet and balance the expected liability insurance fund shortage for adult teams in 2018, an additional $300,000 will have to come from any end of 2017 year budget surplus or from other unallocated reserves.
